2008 Immigrant Success Awards - Winners Announced!

TRIEC is pleased to announce winners of the 2008 IS Awards, which recognize employers and individuals in the Toronto Region that have a proven track record of achievement in recruiting, retaining and promoting skilled immigrants in the workplace.

RBC Best Immigrant Employer Award: Nytric Limited and CH2M HILL Canada Limited

Canadian HR Reporter Individual Achievement Award: Jane Lewis, Country Human Resources Manager, Procter & Gamble Canada

CBC Toronto Business Leadership Award: Fiona Macfarlane, Americas Chief Operating Officer, Tax, Ernst & Young

Toronto Star Immigrant Champion Award: Patricia O'Connor, Coordinator, Field Programming, IESW Bridging Program, The Chang School, Ryerson University

By showcasing the success of the IS Award winners, TRIEC hopes to inspire more local employers to consider the benefits of bringing immigrants on board.

IS Award winners are honoured at an awards ceremony hosted by RBC; recognized in the media for their achievement; and celebrated by their peers as leaders in an area of increasing importance to the Canadian economy. Winners of the RBC Best Immigrant Employer Award also receive a complimentary HR workshop offered through hireimmigrants.ca on building effective strategies to better attract and recruit skilled immigrants, as well as improving individual and organizational cultural competence.

The IS Awards are a program of TRIEC, sponsored by RBC and media partners Canadian HR Reporter, CBC Toronto and the Toronto Star.
