From Idea to Business: Basic First Steps for Successful Entrepreneurship

Presented by Hire Immigrants and RBC Royal Bank of Canada
Friday, October 28, 2016   |   11:00am-12:00pm EDT

Immigrants are entrepreneurial. In Canada, immigrants are more likely to start, own and run a business than those born in Canada, and immigrant entrepreneurs are thriving as small business owners across various sectors and industries. Whether recently arrived or in Canada for many years, knowing how to move your idea into a successful business is important for continued growth and long-term success.

While immigrant entrepreneurs face similar challenges in starting a business as non-immigrant business owners, there are some unique differences common to business newcomers, including a lack of familiarity with the Canadian business and work culture, lack of social and professional networks, and limited access to resources. Fortunately, there are two organizations leading the way in assisting newcomer entrepreneurs: RBC Royal Bank of Canada and Futurpreneur Canada.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • The basics of how to turn your idea into a business plan
  • Common challenges to expect and solutions to help you succeed
  • Useful tools and resources to launching a business
