Integrating Talent Video 3: Manager-Employee and Peer-to-Peer Relations

Cultural factors can affect how members of a team communicate and understand each other. These cross-cultural communication challenges are highlighted in the third installment of Integrating Talent, a training video created by TRIEC that follows the fictional experiences of the skilled immigrant Tarek and his employer MetroCan Technologies.   • To mitigate cultural misunderstandings, culturally intelligent individuals are able to suspend judgment of culturally different behaviours, seek clarification and maintain an open flow of information in both directions.
  • The ability to recognize the impact of cultural differences on communication styles requires each team member to be willing to coach and be coached in order to communicate clearly and effectively while providing feedback in a respectful manner.
