Cross-Cultural Teamwork is a series of training videos developed by TRIEC to demonstrate how cultural differences can impact team dynamics in a Canadian workplace and offers strategies for maximizing the contribution of all team members on a culturally diverse team. (Version français.)
In the video series, CQR Logistics, a fictional company specializing in logistics software and support, has hired two skilled immigrants because the company’s CEO believes building a diverse workforce will give the company an advantage in the global market.
Cultural misunderstandings can arise in the workplace due to cultural and religious differences. But employers can minimize these misunderstandings and leverage the talents of their skilled immigrant employees.
Each episode contains a scene and then a “preferred practice.” The preferred practice is a repeat of the original scene with a few changes, outlining a different, preferred approach.
To use the Cross-Cultural Teamwork video series for internal training or presentations, you can download through the TRIEC Campus. You will have to register (free) and then you can download the video.
The videos are intended for HR professionals and anyone who manages a team with culturally diverse employees, as well as for employers and immigrant-serving agencies offering training to skilled immigrants who are looking to integrate into the Canadian workplace.
