Languages are major obstacles for immigrants trying to get ahead professionally

When you’re in last place in North America in the race to integrate immigrants to the work force, there’s nowhere to go but up. That seems to be the attitude of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, as it released its study on immigrants’ career advancement.

Immigrants: Getting Positioned for Strategic Jobs refers to the “socioeconomic dashboard” presented by the Institut du Québec, which placed Montreal 15th out of 15 major North American cities last year when it came to immigrants finding work.
