Inclusive Interviewing

This courses focuses on understanding cultural differences and how to minimize the impact of cultural biases during interviews.

Being aware of culture-based differences in communication, as well as your own unconscious cultural biases, can help you evaluate skilled immigrant candidates more objectively during an interview.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the influence of unconscious cultural bias on your interview practice
  • Recognize how culture-bound elements influence interviewing and how to minimize the negative impact of these
  • Describe telephone and in-person interview strategies and questioning techniques to enable you to select the most appropriate candidate for the job, while taking culture into account
